Strasbourg, France – The Capital of Christmas

Dates : 28 November – 30 December 2025

Strasbourg is where it all began. The city’s Christkindelsmärik dates back to 1570 and is one of the oldest European Christmas markets. Its timber-framed houses and snowy squares make you feel like you’ve stepped into a storybook.

There are over 300 stalls across the city, with the most iconic ones around Place Broglie and Place de la Cathédrale. You’ll find hand-carved nativity figures, mulled Alsatian wine, and sweet bredele biscuits.

Stay at  Hotel Cour du Corbeau , a restored 16th-century inn full of charm and character.

Vienna, Austria – A Classical Christmas

Dates : 15 November – 26 December 2025 (main market at Rathausplatz)

Vienna doesn’t do Christmas by halves. The Austrian capital lights up with more than a dozen markets, but the most famous is in front of the grand City Hall at Rathausplatz.

Expect classical concerts, traditional wooden toys, and mugs of spicy punch. The smell of roasted chestnuts fills the air while choirs sing carols in the background. It’s an experience you won’t forget.

For a luxury stay,  Hotel Sacher Wien  is a timeless favourite known for its Sachertorte and elegant rooms.

Prague, Czech Republic – A Fairytale Festive Scene

Dates : 29 November 2025 – 6 January 2026

Prague’s Christmas market is set in the heart of Old Town Square, beneath a huge sparkling tree. Every corner glows with lights, and there’s a festive buzz in the air.

Try a trdelník (a cinnamon-sugar pastry), sip some hot honey wine, and shop for hand-blown glass ornaments. Local choirs and folk dancers perform daily, adding to the magical vibe.

Book a room at  Hotel Kings Court , close to the market and full of character.

If you have time, visit the smaller markets too, like the Harbour Market by the Rhine or the medieval-themed one at the Chocolate Museum.
