What Our New ATOL Licence Means for You

April 22, 2025

At Jamie Wake Travel, we pride ourselves on personal service and peace of mind. And now, with our newly granted  ATOL licence , we’re offering even more protection to our customers — whether you’re heading abroad for a relaxing beach break or planning the trip of a lifetime.

So what exactly is ATOL, and why does it matter? Let’s take a closer look at what this means for you.

What Is ATOL?

ATOL stands for  Air Travel Organiser’s Licence , and it’s a financial protection scheme run by the UK’s Civil Aviation Authority. It covers most air package holidays that are booked and paid for in the UK.

In simple terms,  if your trip includes flights and it’s protected by ATOL, your money is safe . If something happens to the airline, or the travel company stops trading, you won’t lose your booking or be left stranded. You’ll either get a full refund or be brought home safely.

When you see that ATOL certificate in your confirmation pack, you know you’re covered.

Why ATOL Protection Matters to Our Customers

We know how much thought and excitement goes into booking your holiday. Whether it’s a honeymoon, a special family trip, or just a well-earned break, you want to know that everything’s secure.

With ATOL in place, you now have even  more confidence when you book with us .

  • If a supplier collapses before you travel, you’ll get a full refund
  • If you’re already away, you’ll be brought home without added costs
  • Your money is protected from the moment you book your package

It’s all about safety, trust, and giving you space to enjoy the journey without stress.

Combined Protection with Protected Trust Services (PTS)

We’re already proud to be members of Protected Trust Services. That means  every penny you pay is held in a secure trust account  until your travel services are delivered.

Unlike traditional travel agencies, we don’t use your deposit to fund other bookings. Your money is ring-fenced and safe.

So when you book with Jamie Wake Travel, you get the double protection of:

  • ATOL – for air package holidays
  • PTS – for every type of travel booking, including UK breaks, cruise-only bookings, and hotel-only stays

Together, they provide some of the most robust consumer protection available in the UK travel industry today.

Supplier Failure and Airline Protection

We’ve gone even further to protect your plans. Every Jamie Wake Travel booking now includes:

  • Supplier Failure Insurance
  • Scheduled Airline Failure Insurance (SAFI)

These additional layers of cover protect you if one of your holiday suppliers — like a hotel, cruise line, or excursion provider — stops trading. They also ensure that if an airline fails, your flights are refunded or replaced.

Even when your booking doesn’t qualify for ATOL, you still benefit from this protection. We believe peace of mind shouldn’t come with conditions.

Secure Payment Links for Safe Booking

We’ve also made booking easier and safer with secure payment links. No need to read card numbers over the phone or worry about manual errors.

Here’s how they work:

  • You receive a unique, secure link to pay online
  • Payments are processed through a fully protected gateway
  • You get immediate confirmation and peace of mind

Whether you’re paying in full or in instalments, your details stay private, and your transaction is protected from start to finish.

Why This All Matters

In a world where travel can change quickly, knowing your booking is fully protected makes all the difference. At Jamie Wake Travel, we’ve always gone the extra mile to offer service that’s personal and trustworthy. This next step reinforces our commitment to you.

Whether you’re booking a luxury beach escape, a European city break, or a UK hotel stay, you now get even  stronger protection with every single booking .

Jamie Says:

Our customers trust us with their holidays — and I take that trust seriously. Getting our ATOL licence is another way we’re making sure every holiday booked with Jamie Wake Travel is not just memorable, but protected at every stage.“

What’s Protected with Jamie Wake Travel?

Here’s a quick recap of the protections we now offer:

  • ATOL: For all eligible air holiday packages
  • PTS: For financial protection on every booking, including non-flight holidays
  • Supplier Failure Insurance: Covers hotels, tour operators, and ground services
  • Scheduled Airline Failure Insurance (SAFI): Covers flights if the airline ceases trading
  • Secure Payment Links: Safe, online card payment with full receipt and tracking

Together, these layers give you full confidence from the moment you pay to the moment you return home.
